ETH settles in minutes rather than tens of minutes, and it brings stablecoins with it. Neither fact changes the one that matters most: none of these operators holds an Ontario registration.
These operators are not registered in Ontario
Every site on this page holds a foreign licence and none of them appears in the iGaming Ontario operator directory. That has four concrete consequences. There is no iGO dispute route — if a withdrawal is refused, your escalation path ends with the offshore regulator that issued the licence. BetGuard does not reach them: excluding yourself from Ontario's regulated market leaves these accounts open. Their games are not certified to the AGCO's technical standards. And your deposit is not held under the Registrar's player-funds requirements. Playing on an offshore site is not an offence for you as a player in Ontario, but the protection you are used to does not travel with you.
Why Ethereum is the better crypto rail for live tables
If you are going to fund a live dealer account with cryptocurrency, Ethereum is a better fit for the format than Bitcoin, for reasons that have nothing to do with the games and everything to do with timing.
Blocks are seconds, not minutes. Ethereum produces a block every twelve seconds against Bitcoin's ten minutes or so, so a deposit that needs a handful of confirmations clears in a couple of minutes rather than half an hour. At a live table where a shoe runs continuously and a roulette round takes under a minute, that difference is the difference between topping up mid-session and missing twenty spins.
Stablecoins ride the same rails. Most casinos that take ETH also take USDT and USDC as ERC-20 tokens on the same network. That matters because it lets you keep a dollar-denominated balance while still using crypto rails — which removes the exchange-rate exposure that is the main hidden cost of a crypto-denominated bankroll.
Gas is the trade-off. Ethereum charges a variable network fee that rises with congestion, and it is charged per transaction regardless of size. Many casinos now also support layer-2 networks such as Arbitrum, Base or Polygon, where the same ETH or USDT moves for a fraction of the fee. If a cashier offers a choice of network, the network you pick can change the cost of a withdrawal by an order of magnitude — and sending to the wrong one is the most common way people lose a deposit permanently.
Match the network, not just the coin
USDT exists on Ethereum, Tron, Solana and several layer-2s, and the addresses look similar. Sending an ERC-20 token to a deposit address the casino generated for a different network usually means the funds are unrecoverable. Copy the network from the cashier alongside the address, every time.
The same six operators, checked the same way
The ETH-accepting live casinos worth listing are largely the same companies as the Bitcoin ones, so the ranking uses the same test: what does the issuing regulator's own register say about the licence, as opposed to what does the site's own badge claim. It does not change the game. A Lightning Roulette table funded in Ethereum charges the same reduced 30x straight-up payout as one funded in dollars; a baccarat Banker bet still costs 1.06%; XXXtreme Lightning Baccarat still applies its 50% fee. Cryptocurrency is a payment rail, and no payment rail has ever improved a paytable.
It also does not change what happens if a site refuses to pay you. An Ethereum transaction is final, there is no chargeback, and your recourse runs to the regulator that issued the licence — which is why the register column above is the first thing on this page rather than the last.
Check a licence yourself, in four steps
- 1 Find the company name and number in the site's own footer or licence page. “Licensed and regulated” with no company named is not a licence claim.
- 2 Open the issuing regulator's own register. For Curaçao that is the Gaming Authority's Online Gaming License Registry, published as a dated PDF. Do not use the certificate seal on the casino's page — those are self-served and prove nothing.
- 3 Match the company registration number, not just the brand. Brands move between companies; numbers do not.
- 4 Read the status column, and read it across two or three editions of the register. A licence can show an expiry date in the past while the status still reads “Assessment in progress” — which is a very different thing from “Indefinite”.

Do any Ontario-registered casinos accept Ethereum?
No. Every operator in the iGaming Ontario directory runs a fiat cashier in Canadian dollars. No registered Ontario operator accepts Ethereum, Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, because of the know-your-customer and anti-money-laundering requirements in the Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming.
Is Ethereum faster than Bitcoin for casino deposits?

Partly. Using an ERC-20 stablecoin such as USDT or USDC keeps your balance dollar-denominated while still moving on crypto rails. A balance held in ETH itself is exposed to the exchange rate as well as the house edge, so a session that breaks even in ETH can lose money in Canadian dollars.
What happens if I send ETH on the wrong network?
Usually the funds are unrecoverable. The same token exists on several networks with similar-looking addresses, and a deposit address generated for one network will not credit a transfer sent on another. Always copy the network from the cashier along with the address.
Are these Ethereum casinos safe?
They are outside Ontario's regulatory perimeter, so 'safe' has to mean something narrower than it does for a registered operator. Three of the six on this page hold Curaçao licences the regulator's own register currently shows as Indefinite; two show expired dates with an assessment under way; one is self-declared under Anjouan and Tobique.
